Insomnia legs

so browsing photography>street by popularity, i found this on the first page. maybe my critique is not related to the image itself but to the misplacement in category and popularity.

so that image, which is definitely well composed and cropped, works, as it stands alone, on a single level - aesthetically.
it's an eye candy for those who are into teen spirit. red chucks and a slim jean - well placed into the scenery.

you could try to argue that the chucks in red have a message, something like "spice up your day" or "youth"... yes it can have a statement like that > when you put it in a context, that is missing here, so that's why this photo is pretty bland.

so what's left over ? a photo of some red chucks...
