so that image, which is definitely well composed and cropped, works, as it stands alone, on a single level - aesthetically.
it's an eye candy for those who are into teen spirit. red chucks and a slim jean - well placed into the scenery.
you could try to argue that the chucks in red have a message, something like "spice up your day" or "youth"... yes it can have a statement like that > when you put it in a context, that is missing here, so that's why this photo is pretty bland.
so what's left over ? a photo of some red chucks...
The vision is excellent with the focus being on the red shoes and the black jeans, the colour red is agreed by most scientists to be dominant and so the strong red in the centre here is a very powerful way to attract viewers attention.
The technique is brilliant with the loss of focus acting as a border and the proud use of the red in the centre, combined with superb lighting hitting the shoes and creating an easy shadow next to the model.
The originality is perfect, there are quite a few photos that are not shots of a whole body but it is a pity that so few manage to "pull it off" which this piece of artwork as managed to do successfully.
The impact is great using the smooth and black jeans which run on to the bold red shoes but using some excellent lighting the foreground shoe is in shadow which creates a smooth contrast between the jeans and the shoe which then runs onto the steps once again using the shadow.
Overall it's a fantastic photo with one of the best combinations of; Vision, Originality, Technique and Impact where as many other pieces of art are strong in one or two of these areas but not others, this one strives for perfection in all.
